After successfully defending his doctoral thesis, he pursued a career in the industry at EY within the Climate Change and Sustainability Services department. There, he focuses on connecting the industrial sector with strategies for quantifying their environmental and social impacts.Marco worked as a sustainability researcher at the Aachen-Maastricht Institute for Biobased Materials (AMIBM). He holds a degree in material and nanotechnology engineering, along with an MSc in Biobased Materials from Maastricht University, where he specialized in the field of sustainability. In his master's thesis, he conducted a Life Cycle Assessment of biobased colorants, specifically curcumin, in food packaging applications. For this work, he was awarded the “Menno Knetsch Thesis Award 2022.”
Marco is pursuing his career at JRC in Petten, the Netherlands, where he works as a sustainability researcher focused on hydrogen technologies and the supply chain.
