Svetlana’s research focuses on the sustainability assessment of emerging value chains using waste and residual biomass. Her particular interests concern the development of net-carbon-negative fuels and chemicals.
Svetlana is the technical leader of the sustainability package in the following projects:
- Circular Cultivation and Chemistry, by Interreg (https://interregvlaned.eu/circulaire-teelt-en-chemie/over-ons). The project focuses on the mission-driven innovation in agricultural value chains.
- Carbon Negative Biofuels from Organic Waste (CARBIOW), by Horizon Europe(https://carbiow.eu/). The project focuses on the valorization of organic fraction of municipal solid waste to aviation and maritime fuels.
